The Nordic Payments Council Scheme Management Committee has decided to follow the European Payments Council’s decision to postpone the end date for the use of unstructured addresses in the NPC payment schemes.
NPC had previously announced that 15 November 2026 would be the end date for using only unstructured addresses. After that date, only fully structured or hybrid addresses would be allowed. Following recent developments, including the EPC's decision to postpone its corresponding end date, the NPC Scheme Management Committee has decided to align with the EPC approach. This means that unstructured addresses will continue to be allowed in NPC payment schemes after 15 November 2026
The updated approach means that NPC scheme participants should continue to follow current NPC scheme documentation until a revised end date has been confirmed and communicated.
NPC will monitor the situation going forward and provide further information to scheme participants and relevant stakeholders on changes to address format once decided.
