The NPC has the ambition that the EPC SEPA Request-to-Pay (SRTP) Scheme Rulebook will be used for the Nordic region. The SRTP Scheme Rulebook is now currency agnostic for European currencies, meaning that it can be used for requesting payment initiation in the Nordic currencies Danish Kroner, Swedish Krona and Norwegian Kroner, and any other SEPA area currency.
The SRTP Scheme will allow creditors to request payments from individual debtor, a “Request-to-Pay”. The SRTP Scheme Rulebook covers a set of operating rules and technical elements that allow a payee to request the initiation of a payment from a payer in a wide range of physical or online use cases.
Apart from the currency agnosticism, another important change for the NPC and the Nordics have now been incorporated in the EPC SRTP Scheme Rulebook version 2.0 with the addition of URLs as an optional feature to add be added in the RTP-message, that could be used to access additional information for example to view or download an invoice.
The NPC has produced a clarification report written to the Nordic actors to further explain the usage of the EPC SRTP Scheme Rulebook. The report is found here:
