Nordic Payments Council’s (NPC) Secretary General, Camilla Åkerman, has decided to retire and will leave her position at the end of March 2027. The Board has initiated the process of recruiting her successor, with the aim of having a new Secretary General in place during spring 2027.
"After much consideration, I have decided to retire after many years in the banking and payments industry. While I am looking forward to spending more time with my family, travelling, and pursuing other interests, it has not been an easy decision.
The past four years with NPC have been both rewarding and inspiring. I have greatly valued the opportunity to work together with NPC's members towards our shared ambition of harmonising Nordic payments. I am particularly proud that, together, we have succeeded in bringing the NCT Inst Scheme into operation and are now close to achieving the same with the NCT Scheme. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when the Nordic payments community works towards a common goal.
I remain fully committed to NPC until my departure and look forward to continuing to support our members, onboard new scheme participants and contribute to NPC's ongoing development," says Camilla Åkerman, NPC Secretary General.
