From the 1 of January 2022, Norwegian Krone (NOK) is added as a currency. This decision follows on the reinstatement of the financial infrastructure company for the banking industry in Norway, Bits A/S, as an ordinary founding member in the NPC in December 2020. The reinstatement of Bits in NPC represented a commitment from the Norwegian payment community to focus on the possibilities in the Nordic collaboration and standardisation by using the NPC payments schemes in Norway. In order to promote interoperability, integration and development for payments NOK has now been added as a scheme currency in all NPC payments schemes, along Danish Krone and the Swedish Krona.
