The Nordic Payments Council (NPC) creates and manages Nordic schemes to facilitate payments within the Nordic countries. The main objective for the NPC is to contribute to harmonised payments in the Nordics.
The NPC is a non-profit member association combining four Nordic bankers’ associations, banks and payment institutions covered by the PSD2 directive.
The membership requirements are objective, non-discriminatory and proportionate.
Updated versions of the NPC payment schemes IGs have been published
Updated versions of the NPC Credit Transfer and the NPC Instant Credit Transfer Implementation Guidelines have now been published. The updated versions include minor but important changes for clarification purposes and/or alignment between messages. All changes are listed in a change log.

Confirmation of Payee Scheme Rulebook 2023 published
In line with to NPC’s vision to harmonise payments in the Nordics and its role to support and promote the integration and development of Nordic payments, the NPC has drafted a Confirmation of Payee Scheme for use in the Nordics.

New NPC Rulebooks version 2023 has been published
New updated NPC Credit Transfer and Instant Credit Transfer Scheme Rulebooks version 2023 has was published on June 20, 2022 and updated versions of the Implementation Guidelines was published on July 11, 2022. The publication of new Rulebooks is a result of the public consultation held between November 1, 2021 and February 1, 2022. In addition, all NPC stakeholders and members were invited to submit rulebook change requests until the end of June 2021.
